Study in America
One of the great benefits of the Au Pair International program is that you get a chance to study at a local college or university! You will receive an allowance of up to $500 to cover your course fees from your host family. Studying is a great opportunity to meet new people, to learn new skills, improve your English and add to your resume. You can choose your topics and, whatever your goals are; you should be able to find courses that interest you.
The U.S. Department of State requires that au pairs complete not less than six semester hours (or their equivalent) of academic credit in formal educational settings at an accredited U.S. post-secondary educational institution.
The host families accepted to the program have agreed to facilitate the enrollment and attendance of their au pair in accredited U.S. post secondary educational institutions and to pay the cost of such academic course work up to $500.
