Ana F.C. – Brazil

Dear future host family,

My name is Ana Carolina, they always call me “Ana”, I live in Belo Horizonte state of Minas Gerais – Brazil.

First of all, I would like to thank you immensely for the opportunity for you to be reading my letter, I can’t believe I’m writing this, because it’s been a dream for me since 2019.

Well, I’m a cheerful girl, always positive, optimistic, grateful, I’m a Christian and I have God as the center of everything in my life! I live in an apartment, I’ve lived alone since 2021, in January it would be three years since I embarked on this journey of self-knowledge and responsibilities! I live in a big city, in a state with a lot of nature and famous for historic cities! I’m the one who does everything in my house, cleaning, washing, cooking, I love to cook, it’s one of my favorite hobbies, and I consider myself a great cook, I learned a lot from my mother and grandmother! It will be a pleasure to let you experience the Brazilian cuisine made by me!

Well, speaking of my family, we get along very well, I have a sister, her name is Anna Luyza, she is younger, she is 16 years old, and she lives with my parents. She has a little dog her name is Stella, I love her, she’s very cute! My mother’s name is Silvia and she’s a babysitter, I think I inherited her love for children too! My father’s name is Mauricio and he is a mason, he builds houses and buildings! We’re together whenever we can, we don’t live so close, but whenever I can I go visit them! They’ve always supported me in everything and it wouldn’t be any different this time, because they want to see me grow and conquer dreams!

I currently work as a receptionist in a beauty clinic, I study English, and I take care of a baby at night whenever her mother needs it! I made great friends at work and I am very grateful to God for the people and opportunities he has placed in my life!

In my free time, in addition to cooking, I love getting to know new places, going to restaurants, eating delicious things, reading, organizing my things, taking pictures, watching movies and series (I just adore all Disney cartoon movies and mine favorites are Cinderela, Moana and tinker bell) I like to be with friends and I always like to travel through the historic cities of my state and get to know a little more!

I’m completely in love with Christmas, it’s a very important date for me! I feel like it’s a magical day and I see that in the United States you also consider it a very special day!

The kids always adored me, and I adore all of them too, the kindness, the love and the teachings, when I met the au pair in 2019, it was like God had always prepared me for this, you know? It united dreams with my love for taking care of children, the au pair will make me know a different culture, have a unique experience, improve my English and certainly meet very special people!

I always had children around me, when my cousins ​​came to my house I always took care of them, at church I was always together with them, until something very special happened where one of my cousins ​​became a father and gave me the opportunity to to be his son’s godmother, because in his words I was very loving with the baby, who is Gabriel and today is my godson and I am very happy for that! For a few years I took care of João Miguel, who will live in my heart forever, he is very special to me, today he is 5 years old but I saw him born, grow, talk, walk, I spent days and days with him, when he started going to school I was with him, we played, I fed him, made food and snacks for him, he loved juice and eating my cake, we went for walks, had a picnic, bathed him, changed his diapers, put him to bed, until then his mother Núbia got pregnant with her second baby Malu and so I took care of João Miguel and Malu for a few years and we did everything together! Children need love, care, good examples, and not only parents but I will also spend a lot of time with them and I have a responsibility to help them be good people, and I commit to that! I’m sure if you choose me as your Au Pair, you won’t regret it! And if you want I can teach them some Portuguese too and trust me it’s not as hard as it looks!
