Letter to My Future Host Family
Update 5/20/21 Hi dear host family! How 's it going? I'm Johanna. I'm 21 years old. I am from Colombia. I’m the youngest of my family.I have a degree in business administration, but I want to continue with my studies. I have been living in Utah for a year and a half with the same host family, taking care of two beautiful girls. The oldest one is about to turn 3 years and the youngest is 1 year and 5 months ( I have been with her since she was born). They both love the outdoors. So usually in winter we go to indoor playgrounds and we do more crafts and arts and play with tons of toys or indoor games. In summer they love going to the pool to build sand castles or feeding ducks, painting rocks, or drawing with chalks etc. I love teaching them spanish. I'm a cheerful, very responsible, respectful, patient, tolerant, organized, proactive, open minded and energetic person. I like hiking, reading, exercising, traveling, watching movies, hanging out with friends, cooking and sharing family time or going to church. i love animals. I have experience with children from 0-12 years old. Most of my life I have been surrounded by children. In Colombia when I was in high school I took care of the first year children, I made them games, fun activities and I reinforced maths and English. after that I took care a girl she's 5 years, I used to play with her dolls, craft and arts, outside and inside activities, or just singing and dancing together, I supported her with homework and readied her to go to school, Also a boy of 2 years old, prepared the bottle, changed diapers, prepared snacks and meals, doing laundry, washing their dishes, doing a lot of indoors and outdoors activities. Also I watched another boy, he's 12-year-old, who I helped him with his homework, meals, hikings, craft and arts etc. I want to be an au pair because it is a wonderful opportunity to improve my english and to learn about new cultures. I would love to find a host family on the other side of the country and also, I would love it if the host family included the au pair in family activities. I would like to be part of the family too and enjoy the rest of the program having a new experience taking care of your kids! 🙂 Look forward to meeting you soon, to give the best of me to be that older sister who will always be aware of the children. A lot love Johana
