Au Pair Introduction

Dear Future Host Family

I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Emily, and I’m excited to introduce myself as a potential au pair for your family. I am thrilled to share my knowledge, experience and culture with you.

Just to tell you a bit about myself- I’m 20 years old and come from South Africa, I am currently in my extension phase and am looking for a new family to embark on the next chapter with. I love working with kids and taking care of them, I have experience in caring for children of various ages. I enjoy spending time with them and listening to their cute stories and adventures, it is a great way to connect with children and learn about their different cultures. In my leisure time I enjoy volunteering at the animal shelter and library, I also enjoy building puzzles, doing word searches and crossword puzzles, reading and going on walks. My interests and hobbies include crafting, drawing and painting. I am also skilled in cooking and baking, I delight in experimenting and trying different recipes from different cultures.

I have a passion for traveling, exploring new places, different cultures, trying new foods, gaining more knowledge and expanding my perspective. My confident and outgoing personality makes it easy to connect with various people and engage in conversations. Some describe me as bubbly, warm and reliable, I’m ambitious and driven. I’ve had the opportunity to visit many places and gone on countless adventures. I go to church every Sunday and enjoy participating in church activities. I am great with kids because I strike a balance between playfulness and maturity, I am also helpful, responsible and always willing to assist where I can.

I have experience with children of different age groups, mainly children two years and older. At church I take care and look after the younger kids by engaging with them in fun and interactive games that everyone can participate in, which gives the parents time to themselves. I have experience in cooking for kids, helping with their homework (I am also TEFL certified), making cute hairstyles for the girls and building Lego houses with the boys, playing outside with them and doing arts and crafts together. I do have experience with babies but prefer working with toddlers and school- aged kids.I’m also completely comfortable and confident behind the wheel, driving in the U.S. every single day. My main goal is always to create a safe, active, and nurturing environment where your kids can have a blast while experiencing life to the fullest.

I decided to extend my participation in the U.S au pair program because I feel it’s a wonderful opportunity to continue experiencing different cultures and environments while also allowing me to meet new people and step out of my comfort zone. I also get the privilege of not only caring for children but also in helping them to experience different aspects of life and a new culture all while having fun. I aim to provide the kids with the best care I possibly can and will do my level best to meet their needs and make sure they have fun, aiding them in exploring and trying new things, and sharing with you numerous tales about my home country, from food to the many beautiful places I’ve explored. I get to share this adventure with you as you share it with me.

I look forward to getting to know you more and the kids more, hopefully becoming a part of your family. Thank you for considering me as your au pair, I can’t wait to embark on this exciting journey together!

Kind Regards

Emily J
