Au Pair Introduction
Sometimes, we think entering adulthood means leaving behind the things that have made us happy since we were children. Today, at 23, I understand that although I’ve grown and matured and everything in me has changed, I realized that growing up isn’t about shutting down that part of us, but rather learning to care for it and make space for it in our daily lives. I realized that the girl from years ago is still alive in me; the one who gets excited by the little details, throws herself joyfully into every experience, and finds reasons to smile and share with others in everyday life.
Since I was little, I enjoyed caring for my siblings and cousins, developing a genuine connection with the little ones and learning responsibility and empathy. Later, during college, I worked at summer camps, designing activities, leading games, and managing dynamics for different groups of children. Every day at camp taught me to patiently adapt to changing situations, from maintaining attention to resolving conflicts, always with a smile and a willingness to do so.
Additionally, I also nannyed for families outside my own, which further strengthened my ability to communicate with children of different ages and personalities. I enjoyed every moment: the spontaneous laughter, the shared stories, and that amazing passage of time when you truly connect with them. I learned that even on days filled with challenges, patience, adaptability, and caring are key to building a safe and fun environment. I algo have a CPR diploma from the Mexican Red Cross that I took specifically for this program
Sometimes the most important decisions begin with a simple question: what if now is the time? I felt like being an au pair could be an incredible experience, one that would be enriching for my future, something that resonated with who I am and my desire to learn. So I decided not to wait any longer and take the plunge.
Thank you.
